Get Well Soon

It has been too long since I last posted anything here. I've been busy creating goodies for a local craft consignment store. I'll be posting pictures of the stash soon.
But for now, I needed to create a "get well" card. The sketch this week over at the Heart to Heart Challenge blog spoke to me. It was a simple enough sketch--I thought I could
whip out a card in no time. Well, it took me longer than I hoped (as everything does!!) and it kind of took a life of it's own. I've never been good with clustering, but I think this turned out all right. I asked my son if this was ok for Grandpa--and got the grandkid approval!
Close to My Heart supplies used:
Typeset Level 2 Paper Pack, Milepost Shapes, Pin Clips, Mocha Opaques, Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, Chocolate Ink Pad.
The heart that is at the top of the Pin Clip and the button are contra objects from the my horded stash!

Thanks for stopping by today.
Hope you are enJOYing this last day of November!

Creative Vision Stamps

Hello bloggers!
A few weeks ago I won a gift certificate from Creative Vision. I received my stamps this week and had so much fun creating with them! I just love the Jingle Jangle stamp set, with the cute Santa and reindeer. It also has super cute and funny sentiments to go along with them.

On this tag, I popped Santa's head up and put Fun Flock on his beard and trim. I get a good little chuckle whenever I look at him!

The reindeer card is made with all sorts of shapes from the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. (I use this cartridge for just about every project I do now!)
Don't ya just love the bewildered look on that reindeer's face? I'm pretty sure I get the same look when putting lights on our Christmas tree! Red Glitter Glue was used on the lights around that poor reindeer to help make them pop. The sentiment just cracks me up. I think "Don't get your Jingle in a Jangle" is going to be my catch phrase this holiday season. I have had those little jingle bells in my stash for years. When I first saw this stamp set, I immediately knew- I now had a good use for those bells! (click on the image to see it bigger)
Thank you Laura from Paper Crafting with Creative Vision for the gift certificate and this great stamp set!
I hope everyone has a wonderfully, fantastic day! Thanks for stopping by today.

Grateful

I made this little gift for a few friends of mine; we get together for coffee most Friday mornings. I am so grateful for those few hours each week. I homeschool my son; on Fridays he goes to a "homeschool enrichment program", after dropping the kids off at "school", 3 of the moms and I go to coffee for some much needed girl time!

With the help of Close to My Heart's, Art Philosophy cartridge for the Cricut this was super easy and fast to make.
The -tag3- was cut at 5 1/2" twice. One of the tags was cut down to 2 3/4", then stamped on with The Present stamp set and Say it in Style stamp set (a must have stamp!!). Then the bottom and sides pf this small piece were glued to the full size tag, this created the pocket. The border is found on page 66 and the leaves are -leaf2- cut at 2" and stamped with the coordinating stamp set that comes with the Art Philosophy package. I have a small heart punch that I used and brown embroidery floss. The hearts are trimmed with dots from a gold gel pen and a marker was used for the faux stitching around the top of the tag.
Colors of cardstock and inks are Goldrush and Barn Red.

It just so happens that this week's Challenge on the Heart 2 Heart blog was to create something for someone you are grateful for. I had already created these and was planning on posting to my blog today, then I saw the challenge! Perfect timing--I'm certainly grateful for that too!

Added info: I left out one step in the instructions of the pocket tag. I wasn't sure if just gluing the shorter piece to the back piece would be a deep enough pocket for the instant coffee packets. So I cut 2 pieces of Goldrush cardstock 2 3/4" x 1/2" and scored it at 1/4" to fold it in half lengthwise. I then glued this to each side of the short piece with the fold on the edge, then glued it to the large piece--and trimmed around the bottom corners of the tag, this gives it just a tad more depth. Clear as mud? I should have taken pictures while doing it. I'd be happy to make another with pictures if needed. Just let me know!

Thanks for looking stopping by my blog! Have a blessed day.

I got this idea from Becky over at Inking Idaho.

They were super easy and fast to make.
DSCN3363I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge for the pockets,<Rctngl1>card (pg 43) and <Rctngle2>card (pg 54) cut at 5”, then just folded the card and glued down bottom and right side. There is a tutorial on Inking Idaho and since I still don’t have a DSCN3364worthy camera, I’m not going to re-create it here

All supplies used were from Close to My Heart. All the paper packs used here are now retired. The Christmas tree and the snowman on the red and green are from a retired stamp set called Merry Christmas BlockDSCN3369s. This has always been a favorite of mine. Another all time favorite stamp set was used for the other snowman, All Decked Out. He is paper pieced with the Aspen Paper Pack. The Cricut Art Philosophy was used to cut the scalloped squares and circle. The DSCN3371Christmas ornament, oval and decorative square beneath the oval are all cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge too.
I’ll be receiving an order this week from Close to My Heart, I’m expecting Christmas stamps and both the holiday paper packs! The possibilities are endless with this cute pocket and tag! I will be making more when my order gets here!
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a fantastic day!

Mojo Monday #213

First piece of business I have to take care of: I forgot to mention that the birthday card I made for my dad (seen HERE) was inspired by the Mojo Monday #213 sketch. Dad’s birthday was at the top of my mind—and I neglected mentioning the sketch. Shame on me!
Mojo213SketchBut—this particular Mojo Monday sketch really got me inspired. Don’t you find that some sketches just speak to you, and you get to creating and just can’t stop? Good thing I have three birthday’s to make cards for this month!

This card is for my wonderful mother-in-law, AND it is done about two weeks early! Thank you Mojo Monday for helping me get these cards done BEFORE the birthday! You can click on the image to see it larger.
All products used are from Close to My Heart. The pattern paper is from the Olivia paper pack, which is now retired, along with New England Ivy, Barn Red and Colonial White cardstock.  Stamp set; Card Chatter. The Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge for the flowers and leafy branches, Opaques Adhesive Gems in Mocha, and the Barn Red Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad were all used.
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope your day is full of joy!

Boy to Zombie

Still haven’t gotten the camera fixed yet, so these pictures are taken with the old camera—that takes horrible pictures inside; blurry and yellow. BUT I just had to share my sweet boy being transformed! I had fun applying makeup!

I had to get a hair band to pull back his hair.
